LIFE-SAVING INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY
The Cardiovascular Institute at Wooster Community Hospital also provides life-saving cardiovascular procedures. Our cardiovascular team is trained and experienced in interventional cardiology, expertly performing emergency angioplasties to open up blocked arteries. Moreover, our team of physicians also perform aortic aneurysm repairs, artery plaque and clot removal, inferior vena cava (IVC) filter placement and removal, and coronary artery fistula repair.
We utilize advanced methods for managing and treating cardiovascular emergencies, and we treat patients in a single facility. When cardiovascular emergencies occur, time is of the essence, and at The Cardiovascular Institute at WCH, there is no need to waste precious minutes transferring patients to another facility.
THE WORLD’S SMALLEST PACEMAKER
At WCH, we are proud to offer our patients the world’s smallest pacemaker. The FDA-approved device is about the size of a multivitamin. It continuously regulates your heart rate for 12 years. Being so tiny, implantation requires a minimally invasive approach, which means a faster recovery for patients. Ask your cardiologist if you are a good candidate for the MICRA Medtronic Pacemaker.
