Prakash Chand, MD

Biography:

Dr. Prakash Chand is a highly esteemed hospitalist and hepatologist at Bloomington Gastroenterology, board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Chand earned his medical degree from the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, and obtained his master’s in surgery from Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, NY, and his General Surgery residency at Pt. JNM Medical College in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.

Furthering his specialization, Dr. Chand completed a fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. With his extensive education and training, Dr. Chand is dedicated to providing exceptional inpatient care and expertise in liver disease management, ensuring the best possible outcomes for his patients.
