If you’re a woman struggling to find a place where you can comfortably talk about all your health care concerns, including your breast, bone, maternity, and sexual or reproductive needs, look no further than Wooster Community Hospital (“WCH”). We are a Women’s Choice Award Hospital for the top-of-the-line service we provide to women in Wooster, Ohio, and the surrounding areas.
BREAST CANCER & OSTEOPOROSIS SCREENINGS AT WCH’S WOMEN’S SPECIALTY CENTER
Our Women’s Specialty Center features cutting-edge diagnostic equipment that can detect breast cancer and osteoporosis in women. Early detection of these diseases that predominantly affect women can save lives.
At our centrally located facility, we offer several breast cancer screenings that can detect whether your breast tissue contains potentially malignant cancer cells. These screenings include:
- 3D Mammography
- Breast Biopsy
- Breast Ultrasound
- Computed Tomography (CT) Scan
Osteoporosis often has no symptoms – until you suffer a fragility fracture. Many women are unaware they have the condition. Our bone density screenings can identify early signs of bone loss that can help you take action to stop progression of the disease and prevent future fractures.

OBSTETRICS & MATERNITY CARE AT THE WCH WOMEN’S PAVILION
If you are pregnant and in need of maternity care, our Women’s Pavilion welcomes you. We provide a safe and warm refuge for pregnant women and their families.
We offer classes on preparing for childbirth, what siblings need to know, and offer tours of the facility with its large birthing suites. Our obstetricians and staff provide expert, compassionate maternity care, including addressing and offering guidance on issues common during pregnancy such as proper foot and leg care.
We deliver babies in our delivery center and provide counseling for postnatal depression. We are extremely flexible in accommodating your birth plans, whether you prefer a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) or a drug-free delivery. Immediately after delivery, we encourage skin-to-skin contact bonding, after which your baby will be placed by the side of your bed, safely secured in a crib.
Breastfeeding support services are available in person or via our telehealth services. Our Level II Special Care Nursery offers around-the-clock care for premature babies that do not require a neonatal intensive care unit. Our pediatricians remain on call and available to you and your baby at all times.
Childbirth is one of the biggest transitions you and your loved ones will ever experience, and we want your experience with Wooster Community Hospital’s Women’s Pavilion to be a joyous and memorable one. We will be there for you before, during, and after delivery.
