Many people think you have to be experiencing a medical emergency to go to the hospital. While it’s true that a hospital’s emergency room is the place to go if you believe you’re experiencing life-threatening symptoms, many patients go to hospitals for nonemergencies, too.
Wooster Community Hospital has more than six facilities in Ohio to provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services for those needing medical attention.
We even have an urgent care clinic and a wellness center to better address all the health care needs of our community.
Additional non emergency health care services we offer include:
SPEECH PATHOLOGY
Another purpose for heading to the hospital is to undergo therapy sessions for speech impediments. Wooster Community Hospital’s professional speech pathologists at HealthPoint provide speech therapy to patients with communication problems due to autism, dementia, and stroke, to name a few. Our well-trained speech pathologists see to it that our patients reach their maximum potential in speech development.
NUTRITION SERVICES
Wooster Community Hospital provides nutrition services where our certified dietitians educate our patients in proper diet and nutrition. We understand the importance of diet in successful medical treatment. This is a service we provide patients diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes. However, many patients diagnosed with heart disease or cancer also commonly seek out the service.
Our dietitians are professionals who can work around dietary restrictions due to religious or nonreligious purposes. They can help develop a diet plan that is suitable to your lifestyle that in no way will restrict you from living your life. Our dietitians know that a proper diet can significantly improve your well-being. They are available to provide coaching and compassionate support.
WHYWEIGHT™ WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM
Wooster Community Hospital also has a WhyWeight™ weight loss program, which is designed to help patients lose weight in a safe manner, guided by a licensed dietitian. The goal is to safely lose at least 25 pounds in six months. We encourage healthy eating and exercise habits that patients can carry throughout their life.
CHIROPRACTIC SERVICES
Wooster Community Hospital’s HealthPoint outpatient wellness facility is also where we offer chiropractic services. Our chiropractor, Dr. Katie Dossi, specializes in many treatments such as spinal adjustments, prenatal and pediatric adjustments, and sports injuries. She also addresses low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, and headaches.
Since 1950, Wooster Community Hospital has continued to expand and add to its services to better serve our community. Unlike other hospitals, we offer continual support to our patients and their families even after they have left the hospital. In fact, we offer so many more outpatient services than mentioned here. If you would like to know more about them, feel free to call us at (330) 263-8144.
