Tobacco Cessation
According to the American Cancer Society, smoking is responsible for nearly 1 in 5 deaths in the U.S. alone, and approximately 8.6 million Americans suffer from smoking-related lung and heart disease.
You don’t have to be part of these statistics. Let the healthcare professionals at Wooster Community Hospital help you quit your smoking habit once and for all.
Smoking Cessation Help
The tobacco cessation staff at Wooster Community Hospital is friendly and knowledgeable in addressing the five keys to quitting: preparation, support, and encouragement. Learning new skills and behaviors, obtaining and using medications correctly, and being prepared for relapse or difficult situations.
Our staff members pride themselves on offering high-quality, comprehensive care for all of our tobacco cessation patients. They not only take the time and care to ensure patients receive individualized attention for their personal needs, but they also ensure all interactions are as supportive and respectful as possible. We understand how difficult the journey can be to quit your use of tobacco, so we try to help in any way we can.
Our Smoking Cessation Program
Our comprehensive smoking cessation program contains three main modules. These modules include the following:
- One-on-one weekly 30-minute counseling sessions with a respiratory therapist.
- Education about the various nicotine replacement therapies and medications and alternative methods used for cessation.
- Guidance and support; plus, we will contact your physician to obtain any required prescriptions for medications related to cessation.
Insurance is accepted for this six-week program. Please check with your provider about whether your plan covers tobacco cessation programs. In the event your insurance provider does not cover your six-week smoking cessation program, we encourage you to contact us at your earliest convenience by calling (330) 263-8329. One of our friendly team members will be happy to help you with your financial plan.
