Our Mission is to aid, comfort and promote the general welfare of the patients and their families. The WCHA volunteers services and raises funds by various activities that will support our hospital. Fundraiser Campaigns:
As the holiday season approaches, the Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary is excited to announce our Annual Tree of Love fundraising campaign. We invite you to honor a special person in your life by purchasing a lighted cut tree that will be displayed on the hospital grounds, complete with an identifying plaque. These beautiful trees not only create a festive atmosphere but have also been a cherished Auxiliary tradition.
By participating in this meaningful endeavor, you will not only celebrate someone special but also support the Auxiliary’s efforts to enhance the programs and services at Wooster Community Hospital. Over the past six years, we have donated over $750,000 to the hospital, funding essential services such as purchasing vans for transportation for community members who cannot drive to medical appointments, and scholarships for graduating seniors in Wayne County.
This year, we are offering three sizes of trees:
- 6-7' Tree: $100
- 7-8' Tree: $200
- 8-9' Tree: $400
To participate in this year’s Tree of Love project, please complete the below form by November 10.
Each tree will be marked with a plaque, and your name will be displayed in the hospital lobby throughout 2025.
In addition to the plaque identifying your tree, your name will also be displayed in the hospital lobby from December 2024-December 2025. We invite you to attend our Lighting of the Trees Ceremony on Tuesday, December 3 at 6p in the Outpatient Pavilion at Wooster Community Hospital.
Thank you for considering the purchase of a lighted tree. Your support makes a difference!

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to serve others, and at the same time learn new skills and make new friends?
According to many of our volunteers, the most significant benefit they receive from volunteering is a genuine sense of satisfaction from helping others. Our volunteers come from every walk of life and they appreciate the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends.
Teenagers and college students have a unique learning opportunity through the Junior Partner program (ages 14-18) and our Medic Aide (college) program. The work our volunteers perform at Wooster Community Hospital is important, and the friendships they make are long-lasting.
Our most popular positions are working at the information desk, gift shop, messenger (delivering internal mail), and escort (running errands). Other volunteers assist patients by filling water pitchers, delivering comfort items, acting as a friendly visitor, and helping with clerical work on the nursing units and wherever needed.
As a WCH volunteer, you’ll receive:
- The satisfaction of making a difference in people’s lives
- Free meal for each volunteer day of four hours or more
- Flu shot annually
- Annual recognition and awards event
